Fairy Waiting for the Storm to Pass

I have a confession: despite my age (twenty-*mumbles*) I love to read fairy tales and fiction, even when the target audience of a particular series is younger readers. I particularly like the Disney Fairies series, which chronicles the escapades of the fairies of Never Land. (And contrary to what you might think, Tinkerbell is not always the main character.)

One of the purported weaknesses of fairies in this series is that their wings cannot be used to fly when they're wet. They are absorbent, and cannot flap quickly enough to maintain flight when drenched. And if a fairy falls into a deep body of water, the weight of their wet wings will start to drag them down, and it is extremely dangerous to attempt a rescue, since splashing or spray may dampen the wings of the rescuers.

Here we have a fairy who is wisely waiting out the storm. She is not particularly perturbed - as a fairy, she knows nature needs the life-giving moisture the rain provides, and she's in no hurry. Instead, she simply watches, knowing it will eventually let up enough for her to get home.
