Steampunk Submarine Captain (Request)

This is the prize artwork for .  She asked for a picture of a "manga-style steampunk submarine captain." 

Steampunk is a very hard genre to define in a single picture.  It is typically the environment that determines whether or not something is "steampunk" since the costumes often reflect actual historical periods.  But a particular design element that seems to instantly scream "STEAMPUNK!" is the ubiquitous set of goggles.  I gave the captain a goggles-style monocle, dressed her in some military uniform, and I hope the flavor of the genre came across well enough.  She's posing for a portrait after a battle in which she and her crew sank 13 of the enemy fleet, and she can't quite keep the sense of satisfaction from quirking her lips into a smile.

This is so long overdue that I can't even justify making excuses.  I will just say I'm very sorry it took as long as it did, and I hope you enjoy it, .
